Warrigal wins ACSA ‘Provider of the Year’ State Award

Warrigal has been awarded NSW/ACT’s ‘Provider of the Year’ at the Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) Awards ceremony on Tuesday 26 October, 2021.

Warrigal has been awarded NSW/ACT’s ‘Provider of the Year’ at the Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) Awards ceremony on Tuesday 26 October, 2021.

The award, recognising Warrigal’s outstanding leadership, management, workforce culture, innovation, communication and excellence in the sector, was presented online amongst other aged care providers across NSW and the ACT.

Warrigal CEO, Mark Sewell, said winning the award for the second time in the past three years was a great honour for Warrigal.

“This achievement is a great testament to the ongoing work of all of our employees, in particular our frontline staff, who have all come together to achieve the same goal of helping older people live great lives, even in the midst of a devastating global pandemic.“

In addition to the state award of Aged Care Provider, Warrigal also made it as a finalist in the ‘Innovation in Service or Design’ category, recognising the implementation of their Safe Visiting Areas that was built for every Warrigal home at the height of COVID to create no-touch regular visitations, so there is zero risk of COVID transmissions between families and their loved ones.

“From the implementation of our innovative Safe Visiting Areas, to our daily monitoring of best safety practices in regards to COVID-19, this is welcome recognition for the tremendous amount of hard work our team has done over the past 18 months to keep our residents and customers safe and connected throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.“

Warrigal is proud to highlight the work of their 1500 staff and more than 350 volunteers, who have worked together tirelessly to reach positive outcomes for the residents and customers who use Warrigal’s services.

“It is a great honour to be recognised amongst other nominees who are doing outstanding work in the sector across NSW and the ACT. To take home this award out of 225 possible members, this achievement is truly one to be celebrated by everyone at Warrigal, our volunteers, customers, and residents, and especially our frontline staff who have tirelessly shown their strength and resilience during such a challenging and memorable time. It’s the Warrigal Way, we all work together to achieve our common goal of older people in our region living great lives.” Mark said.

Warrigal will now attend the National ACSA Aged Care Awards in December, where they will be finalists amongst winners in the other states.
