I love hearing residents’ stories, understanding what matters to them, and supporting a home environment where they feel safe, respected, known, loved, and connected.

Recently, we interviewed Kate, our Residential Care Manager at Warrigal Mount Warrigal. Keep reading to learn more about Kate’s journey with Warrigal, her background as a Registered Nurse in a range of health settings, and her passion for helping our older people live their best lives.
I am a Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background in respiratory and infectious diseases, intensive care, and aged care. I have worked across a range of health settings, including hospital, remote and rural agency nursing, and residential aged care.
In June 2024, I joined Warrigal Albion Park Rail as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and later progressed into the role of Assistant General Manager. In November 2025, I was appointed permanently as the General Manager at Warrigal Mount Warrigal.
My clinical background has shaped the way I lead, with a strong focus on quality care, clear processes, person-centred practice, and supporting staff to feel heard and valued.
My favourite thing about working in aged care is the privilege of being part of people’s lives in such a meaningful way. Aged care is about much more than clinical care – it is about dignity, connection, trust, and helping older people continue to live their best lives.
I love hearing residents’ stories, understanding what matters to them, and supporting a home environment where they feel safe, respected, known, loved, and connected.
My favourite thing about working at Warrigal Mount Warrigal is the strong sense of community. It is a smaller home with a warm, familiar feel, which allows staff, residents and families to build genuine relationships.
I also value the opportunity to work alongside a team that is committed to improving, learning, and providing high-quality care. Warrigal Mount Warrigal has a real sense of heart, and I feel privileged to be part of shaping a positive, supportive culture for both residents and staff.
Warrigal Mount Warrigal is a warm and welcoming home where we genuinely want residents to feel known, loved, and connected.
Moving into aged care can be a big life transition, not only for the person moving in, but also for their family. Our aim is to provide care that is respectful, person-centred and supportive, while taking the time to get to know each resident as an individual.
We want people to feel that Warrigal Mount Warrigal is not just a place where care is provided, but a place where they can feel safe, valued and part of a community.
At Warrigal, we have a united goal which we all work towards: creating a world where older people feel known, loved, and connected. Kate is the perfect example of our vision in action, and Warrigal would not be where it is today without the care and dedication of our employees. During the interview process, I could genuinely feel the warmth and teamwork among staff. It felt like a place where nurses are valued and supported, not just as clinicians but as people.

Knowing that you are providing care and making a difference to the lives of older people is awesome – I couldn’t do anything else.
