Warrigal is pleased to announce the appointment of Sophie Ray to its Board of Directors, effective March 2025. This appointment strengthens the Board’s capabilities in strategic governance and organisational transformation, at a time of significant change in the aged care sector.
Sophie is a highly regarded Non-Executive Director and governance expert with a passion for guiding organisations through periods of change and growth. With a background in law, she brings extensive experience in governance, risk management, and strategic oversight across sectors including early childhood, veterans’ support, migration and refugee services, gender equality, education, and more.
Following an extensive search for a director with expertise in organisational transformation, Sophie’s appointment complements Warrigal’s skills-based Board, ensuring strong leadership as the organisation adapts to the evolving aged care sector.
Warrigal CEO Jenni Hutchins welcomed Sophie to the Board, saying: “Sophie’s wealth of experience and her commitment to organisations that make a tangible difference will be invaluable to Warrigal. Her deep expertise in strategic governance and risk management will strengthen our Board’s ability to navigate industry challenges and drive growth.”
Sophie expressed her excitement about joining the Warrigal Board, saying: “I’m honoured to join the Warrigal community, an organisation that has made a genuine difference to the lives of older people. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members, staff, volunteers, and residents to continue this legacy and adapt to the evolving needs of the sector and our communities.”
Warrigal is excited to welcome Sophie to the Board and looks forward to collaborating with her as the organisation continues to lead in aged care innovation, quality, and community impact.
