FAQs

Asking the Right Questions

See our Frequently Asked Questions below to find out more about the services we offer.

What aged care services does Warrigal offer?

Warrigal offers Residential Aged Care (including Respite), Home Services (including Warrigal Social), and Retirement Village Living. Each service is designed to cater for your individual needs, and our friendly team is here to help you on your journey to accessing them.

What is Retirement Village Living?

A Retirement Village is a residential community designed for older adults (55+) who are able to live independently and care for themselves, however support is close by when needed. In these communities, being social and active is a focus, with a well-rounded healthy lifestyle on offer for all village residents.

What is Residential Aged Care?

Residential Aged Care is a long-term service option for older people who need ongoing 24 hour access to health professionals and personalised care. Usually this is an option for people who are no longer able to live independently and manage their day-to-day personal care at home.

Respite is also available as a part of Residential Aged Care, if you or your carer needs a short-term break.

What are Home Services?

Home Services are an option for those who are still able to live independently in their own homes, however need some assistance with day-to-day tasks around the house (such as cleaning, laundry, groceries, home maintenance), personal care (showering, wound care, medication prompting), transport, and community engagement.

Where is Warrigal located?

Warrigal has 15 locations across New South Wales and the ACT, in the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Queanbeyan and Canberra regions. For a full list of our locations, visit our page here.

How do I know what services I need?

When it comes to selecting services, it’s important to evaluate your needs against your current capabilities. If you need help deciding, it could be helpful to discuss this with your doctor or loved ones where they think you would benefit from with some extra help.

Once you have an idea what you need help with, contact our friendly Customer Relations team to discuss what Warrigal can offer you.

What are the requirements for accessing services?

Depending on the service you are wanting to receive, you may need an ACAT Assessment. This is a complimentary assessment completed to assess your care needs, and makes recommendations for government-funded care and support (specifically Residential Care and Home Services).

For Retirement Living, there is no requirement apart from your age (55+), your financial situation and ability to purchase the property you are interested in.
