Building relationships within our community provides us with happiness, security, support, and a sense of purpose. That’s why we formed our Warrigal Social group – to connect you with your community, and get you engaged in doing the things you love.
Warrigal Social Illawarra welcomes you to the two centre-based groups on Mondays and Fridays from 10am – 2pm. If you’re eager to explore our stunning local coastline, parks, and escarpment, hop on board our bus outings available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, running from 9am – 3pm. And for those in the Southern Highlands, our Warrigal Social Hub is ready to brighten your days from Monday to Saturday, operating from 9am – 5pm.
You’ll have access to our programs through our convenient bus transport, as well as a nutritious morning tea and lunch, all provided by Warrigal.

Our Warrigal Social program is all about keeping older people engaged and entertained. It’s a versatile program that offers a chance to enjoy light exercise, outings, and popular activities like art and crafts, bingo, and gardening, all while socialising with like-minded people.
This is an excellent opportunity for both older people and their carers to take a well-deserved break, while forming new connections and friendships. In our social hubs, you’ll enjoy fun games, art and crafts, quizzes, music sessions, exciting day trips, sightseeing, and delightful lunches at local clubs and landmarks – plus much more!
And the best part? Our door-to-door transport option makes getting here is easy and affordable, so you don’t miss out on having fun in your community.

Feel connected to culture
Our United Koori Women’s Elders Social Group is designed to bring together the esteemed women elders of our community. This program is a wonderful way to keep them connected to their culture and provide opportunities to have some fun and engage in meaningful conversations.
Our United Koori Women’s Elders Social Group welcomes women 50 years and over for a social catch up every second Thursday. Meeting at our Warrigal Warilla Social Hub, you’ll enjoy a day out doing the things you love: scenic drives, socialising, games, arts and crafts, shopping (including op shopping), and indulging in morning tea and lunch.
This group is currently offered in the Illawarra only.

A safe place to meet with friends
Our Social Hubs are dedicated Warrigal spaces thoughtfully designed to provide a sense of safety, support, and connection for older people. We affectionately call them ‘hubs’, because they are more than just meeting places – they are vibrant community centres that offer a wide array of activities, filled with laughter, vitality, and a strong sense of connectedness.
Our Illawarra Social Hub is nestled within our Warrigal Warilla site, situated less than a kilometre from the beach and away from the hustle and bustle. Tucked away in the quiet end of George Street, you’ll enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere amongst like-minded people.
For those in the Southern Highlands, our Social Hub is based at our Warrigal Goulburn care home, set in a peaceful country setting.

Getting here & there
We know that transport can be tricky, it’s not always easy to get around and taxi fares add up quickly. With this in mind, we have a dedicated Warrigal Social bus service, designed to pick you up from your front doorstep, and transport you to our social hub.
Our well-appointed mini-buses are fitted with air conditioning and heating for your comfort, and they have ample space to accommodate any walking aids you may require, such as walking frames and walking sticks.
