At just six years old, Eddy is already making a remarkable impact at Warrigal Goulburn as our youngest volunteer. Alongside his mum, Tori, Eddy brings colour, creativity and joy into the lives of residents through regular visits filled with conversation, laughter and thoughtful acts of kindness.

Whether he is proudly handing out Pokémon drawings, sharing colourful pictures created by his birthday party guests, showing residents his school merit certificate, or arriving dressed as Pikachu, Eddy’s vibrant personality lights up every room he enters. Residents now eagerly ask when he will be visiting again, with many proudly displaying his artwork in their rooms.

Eddy’s volunteering journey beautifully demonstrates the powerful connection that can exist between generations. His visits bring energy, warmth and excitement to residents, while also helping him build confidence, compassion and a sense of community from a young age. From chatting about Pokémon to introducing residents to Lenny the Lion, his kindergarten class mascot, Eddy reminds us all that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

Young volunteers like Eddy help create vibrant and connected care homes where residents feel valued, remembered and loved. His story is a wonderful example of how volunteering can inspire joy across all generations and strengthen the sense of community within our homes.
