Major Milestone Reached as Warrigal Completes Construction of Newest Community Village

Warrigal has reached Practical Completion of Warrigal Lake South, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of its newest independent living community at Lake Illawarra.

Warrigal has reached Practical Completion of Warrigal Lake South, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of its newest independent living community at Lake Illawarra. Located at 10 Bradman Avenue, the village includes 65 contemporary two-bedroom villas designed for people who want to continue living independently while planning confidently for the future.

Warrigal CEO Jenni Hutchins said the milestone represented an important investment in housing choice for older people across the Illawarra. “Reaching this milestone is exciting, not only for Warrigal but for the wider community,” Ms Hutchins said.

“Warrigal Lake South has been created for people who want to enjoy their independence today, while having confidence that support can be arranged if their needs change in the future. It is about providing choice, connection and the opportunity to remain part of a welcoming community.”

Unlike a traditional retirement village, Warrigal Lake South has been designed to provide independent community living with the reassurance that support may be provided if residents’ needs change over time. The approach gives residents the freedom to live independently, while helping them plan ahead with greater confidence.

The village offers a relaxed, low-maintenance lifestyle, with landscaped gardens, welcoming community spaces and easy access to Lake Illawarra, local shopping, health services and recreational amenities.

With construction now complete, Warrigal is preparing to welcome prospective residents, families and community members to experience the village first-hand. Visitors will be able to tour the display villa, explore the Community Hall and shared spaces, and speak with Warrigal’s Customer Relations team about independent living options.

Ms Hutchins said many people were beginning to explore retirement living earlier, while they were still active and independent. “The best time to explore your options is before there is pressure to make a decision,” Ms Hutchins said. “We encourage people to visit Warrigal Lake South, see the village for themselves and discover how planning ahead can provide confidence for the future.”
