Social Impact

At Warrigal, our commitment goes beyond providing exceptional aged care services. We’re deeply invested in creating a positive social impact within and beyond our community. Through active engagement with local initiatives and organisations, we strive to improve the lives of those around us.

Social Impact

Sponsorships & Partnerships

As a not for profit, our community is everything to us. We know that when we work together, we can achieve so much. That’s why we’re committed to nurturing our relationships with local like-minded organisations and businesses through sponsorships and partnerships, to lift each other up and achieve our collective missions. We have numerous partnerships with local community organisations, like Greenacres, The Disability Trust, and Flagstaff, just to name a few, as well as being members of our local peak body, Community Industry Group.

Sustainability

We take sustainability seriously. To demonstrate our commitment to taking care of the world we live in, we’ve appointed a dedicated Sustainability Coordinator who is overseeing a 10-point Sustainability Plan, endorsed by our Board of Directors. We’ve renewed our partnership with the NSW Sustainability Advantage program, which connects Warrigal with other organisations working on projects with similar goals, and provides us with access to professional consultation, workshops, and information in relation to sustainability.

Other Ways We Help

Volunteer providing assistance and support at residential care home.

Our organisation is founded on the incredible contributions of our selfless volunteers. Their impact goes beyond providing heartfelt care to our residents and customers. Our dedicated team extends their support to our community through various initiatives. Take our op shop team for example. They not only run the shop, but they also collaborate with local farmers to repurpose any unsold clothing, by giving out any unsold textiles to be used again as rags. These repurposed rags are then utilised by a car detailer for polishing. Together, these volunteer-driven initiatives have a profound social impact, benefiting both the individuals we care for and the communities we serve.

We take a proactive approach to address the pressing issue of modern slavery. Being ethically responsible aligns with our core values and is a critical component of our business operations. We conduct yearly audits to evaluate our supplier’s practices and report on the origin of the products we source, ensuring we do not procure any items from companies involved in unethical or unlawful practices.

To assist with recruitment and make a positive social impact, Warrigal partnered with the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. This scheme is the Australian Government’s integrated approach to streamlining the Pacific Labour Scheme and Seasonal Worker Programme into one simplified system, in order to bring skilled, dedicated workers from the Pacific Islands to Australia. We are proud of our PALM Scheme program, and have successfully brought more than 130 people to work in Australia, creating opportunities for employment and fostering cultural exchange for the betterment of our community.
