Every week, without fail, Alana brings warmth, joy, and dedication to her volunteer role.
Congratulations to the Northern Winner of the 2025 Norm Rowland Volunteer Award – Alana Walker!
Alana has been volunteering at Warrigal Mt Warrigal for over 10 years, and is a beloved and irreplaceable part of our care home community. Every week, without fail, Alana brings warmth, joy, and dedication to her volunteer role, helping facilitate activities, providing support on outings, and most importantly, offering genuine companionship to our residents.
Known for her gentle and caring nature, Alana goes above and beyond by visiting residents in their rooms, encouraging them to join activities, or simply sitting with them for a chat. Her ability to make residents feel safe, respected, and valued is what sets her apart. Whether she’s helping mend clothes, or comforting someone in need, Alana always shows up with kindness and a smile – her presence is so appreciated that residents often ask for her on her days off!

Alana embodies Warrigal’s vision of ensuring older people feel known, loved, and connected. Her well-deserved recognition as the Northern Norm Rowland Volunteer Award Winner is a testament to her outstanding volunteering contribution.
